I'm a Convert!!

I have just completed Assignment One. Finally!!

Of course this is not the first such paper that I have written, but I was challenged in a new way to re-examine what I believe about ICT integration.

I recall being extremely excited when I was transferred to the Fairhall Government School and assigned as the IT Teacher. Part of this zeal had to do with the brand new high intensity computer lab that was a feature at the recently constructed school.  I went about my duties diligently.  One challenge that I faced was once the novelty of the new lab wore off, teachers seemed to have lost interest in bringing their classes outside of scheduled IT sessions. The research that I did for the assignment offered some suggestions as to why this might have happened.  For one, the arrangement of the lab really does not offer the kind of flexibility that is needed for today's generation of students, and limits what can actually be done there.

Having completed the paper, I must confess that, I, who once perceived "my" lab as the best thing ever, have been converted.  I am now so enthusiastic about the low density lab! The benefits of this kind of environment are many; hence my new challenge is:
What am I going to do about it?
